Several years later and a fair few thousend kilometers away from home my dream came true. Australia seems to be THE spot for extraordinary dreams and wishes. The funny thing about it is, facebook made it all possible. One of my friends i got know in Australia changed his profile picture and there it was. Just a giant pipe made out of concrete. It took a while and a few funny fortuities till i finally got there. It was hell of a journey. Basicly the pipe was in the middle of nowhere. One and a half days just of driving were necessary, including some of the problems you might have with a 20 years old car. The weather wasn‘t good either but in the and it was all well worth it.

The pipe actually represents the overflow of a huge dam. The intake – a midboggingly huge funnel above the surface of the lake – seemed just unreal. The pipe is about 12 m in diameter and 150m long. Slightly downhill. Just breathtakingly massive. Due to its location well up in the mountains and simply the lack of people in this area, it was dead easy to get in there. It took a while to tidy the whole thing up a little but by the time i jumped on my bike, i was just completely stoked! Its just pure fun!

It was quite a mission to climb into the pipe. After a shower it was close to impossibility to get back out again.

It’s been a 25min walk/ride down to the “entry”..

My name is Flo Berghammer, I’m 18 years old and i’m from munich-germany!This summer i spent the probably best holidays of my life in canada-whistler . I went there at the beginning of august and  i wanted to stay there for 3 weeks with some friends from munich.My first day in whistler also was the first day of the 2009 whistler crankworx and whistler village was completely crowded and so the tracks were.But it was just awesome, i had never been riding such a bike park before, i had just heard of the legendary a-line and the huge number of tracks going down whistler mountain. The tracks were shaped perfectly and everything was working pretty good.As days passed by i started feeling more comfortable on my bike and …finally crashed But it didn’t hurt so bad and i still was able to ride and to have a good time.As whistler crankworx was over the tracks finally started to get more and more empty and we were able to ride all day long as often as we wanted. And as weeks passed by i finally started to get a little bit faster on my bike… i was pretty much stoked about that! We also found some hidden trails on whistler mountain and i have to say, it was the best trail i’ve ever been riding, the dirt was so soft and there were little jumps and nice turns on the track. 5 days left till i had to go home…noooo. But we had an incident, one of us crashed so bad that he had to fly back to munich with my ticket and i just stayed for one more week. I was totaly happy about that and had a really great time riding more hidden trails and riding the tracks on whistler mountain more often! All in all it was a nice trip and i’m sure that i’ll be there next year again.

The next we stayed for a 10 hours drive in the car to Frejus close to Nice in France.

The time there was super sick. Sunny days, 25-28° the hole week. and a lot of fun at the Sram booth with Elmar, Martin, Philipp and Dirk. In the evenig we killed some beers and had a lot of fun together.

And now?? I´m  back in Cologne and it´s soooo cold… damn!
